It didn't do that well, contrary to what the Akkadian spin machine would have you believe. This is probably a no-no in B-D world but I'm gonna requote an earlier post (not that the news has been that flooded in these parts.....Anyway, the final tally goes as follows:
$58,247,899. That's LESS (read that, LESS) than such
distinguished cinematic gems of late such as The Amityville
Horror, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dawn of the Dead (this one
gets a pass), The Haunting, The Grudge, The Stepford Wives,
Saw 2, Saw 3, Saw 4, H20 (adj.), Halloween 2 (adj.) and of
course the paragon of all things horror, the original
(which, by the way, if anyone forgot, ROB Zombie said he was
going to correct thereby implying he was going to 'better' a
seminal masterpiece. How'd that work out for all you silly
little Myspace Zombieites?????) Congradulations are in
order though. Jason Stratham was finally (and mercifully)
dethroned as the Labor Day Weekend Reigning Heavyweight
Champion of the $20-30mil. demographic. Seriously folks, is
anyone REALLY still wonderring why the Weinstein's made that
little statement after the dust has finally
settled on this piece of cinematic fecal
mediocrity.....
