BURIED ALIVE webisodes online...
But you have to be patient if you want to see them!

BURIED ALIVE arrives online but will it change the way that we all get our horror distributed to us?

White Rock Lake productions and Sony Digital have partnered with Director Paul Etheridge to deliver a new and imposing force in horror all wrapped up in small bites for you! Written by Padraig Reynolds, BURIED ALIVE is a video series that details the messed up actions of a killer who calls himself “Friend of Fred West”. The killer traps and slowly tortures six kids. The reason is unknown, but we are promised that we will find out the motive as the series unrolls. Posting a new (1-5 minute) video everyday (seven days a week) for six weeks! The main videos play on Fearnet, but then several viral videos are appearing all over the net at a variety of places - like Youtube - which will encompass more of the torture, abductions and back story!
This new online series has many people buzzing about how it may change horror. It’s a new way for us horror fans to see and interact with the filmmakers, by delivering the content in these short film episodes. If there is one thing that is changing horror right now it is these webisode videos. The fact that anyone can watch and support the videos from anywhere in the world is going to mean big changes in how future horror films are delivered to us. But you better have a bit of patience to see them at the extremely slow loading Fearnet site.
I was realty excited to watch BURIED ALIVE, so using my wireless DSL and Mozilla Firefox, I loaded into the Fearnet site. I waited and waited to get past the splash pages, then waited and waited for the actual video to load. After about 4 or 5 minutes of waiting it finally loaded up. This is a problem for me, if I go to ANY site that takes more than a few seconds to load in I usually move on. When it finally did load I was able to watch the video in three sizes, but once it finished it was very hard to navigate around the page and find out more. Beyond that I went to the downloads section, but the player window would not go away to let me see what was available until I closed the entire site, and reopened it, Ughhhh, I really wanted to watch this!
Fearnet is built to be a VOD channel. Not a website, so most of their content takes forever to load. This is unfortunate, for those of us who do not have Comcast or crazy fast internet speeds. My DSL is pretty speedy, and yet I had to wait almost 5 minutes to see anything. Also the site itself does nothing to tell us about what exactly BURIED ALIVE is. Fearnet has a lot of potential, but has yet to do anything to really connect with the fans that don’t have Comcast. Other sites like Youtube and Myspacetv have no problems getting the videos to load very fast, hell our own BDTV is still in beta and you don’t have to wait minutes for videos to start. Maybe in the future Fearnet will be a force to reckon with, but for now, you need to be a Comcast subscriber to enjoy it. This fact alone sucks for horror fans around the globe.
If you have patience…check it out
here: The first viral videos have been found
herewhere you can subscribe to the (fast loading ) supplemental videos. It is worth the wait, but I for one would rather gouge out my own eyes than wait for a website to load.
