Ever since Marcus Nispel was announced to remake Friday the 13th for New Line Cinema, Paramount Pictures and MTV, news has been flooding on the web. Today the biggest of news hit over at CHUD where they revealed the entire opening sequence of the film, which we have confirmed as authentic. In the remake, which hits theaters February 13, 2009, Jason Voorhees will rock his mask and kill in a modern "companion piece."
wow. the first thought that crossed my mind wasnt "that sucks hard". i think they need to keep a vintage slasher feel to it and not add in the shaky cam, jump scare bs thats becoming all to common

sounds damn good. i'm just a huge jason fan, i am happy he is gonna be back on the screen any way i can get him basically. sad, i wished the original series would have made it to # 13.
Meh. How boring. They spend this long figuring out the rights and what not to come up with this? A couple of hack writers, mediocre director and douche bag producers who have no love for the genre. Yawn.
The tunnels sound pretty dumb. I like that they made clear the fact that he's HUMAN! Realism is what is scary. After part 4, there was no suspense in the films....They were mere body count flicks for the sci-fi generation. Leave the sci-fi for comic books & Alien vs Predator. Richard Brooker for Jason(The First to don the Hockey Mask) Hopefully they don't reboot the series, then run it into the ground again(New Blood,Manhatten,Hell,X)
Love everything - EXCEPT the tunnels... tunnels?! C'mon man, I went to Stokes every year as a kid (Place they shot the first film) - and I really doubt a vast forest/swamp area is going to have a bunch of friggen tunnels. I'll still go see this movie 10-15 times so why bitch then, right?

I'm not all that big of fan of the fridays but this does sound kinda interesting. But I have to say that they creators said that they want to have jason as a human instead of a supernatural killing machine. To me that kind of sounds like Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween. Rob turned Michael into a human. Anyway, I liked Rob Zombie's remake on the classic Halloween and I am hoping this Friday is good because to be honest I don't think any of the previous ones were that great.
i have a feeling the "tunnels" will only be mentioned, not shown. more like a rumor to the characters.

that tunnel thing is retarted,once again they going to ruined the flow of friday the 13th, thats wat made jason scary not knowing how he got to those places all around the camp now he had tunnels? wtf!! i can see it now, one of the camp counselor is ganna find the tunnel and get chased threw their and thats where they prob going to kill jason.
i being one of jason's biggest fans am not to happy that they are going out of their way to make him human i like the dead unable to be killed jason and i liked that there was never a real reason for him have his supernatural powers, he doesnt need tunnels to make him pop up in different places but i still cant wait to see jason on the big screen again
The Friday's 13th films where never genius for their writing or anything else, they were just cheesy fun that's all. To be honest i'd preffer it to be as fun as Planet Terror, why do they need stupid tunnels or to make it sooo clear he is human? That is what spoil Halloween and TCM remakes IMO. Just give us a fun movie which is made with love
Everything sounds cool besides those fucken tunnels. It's better to know that Jason lurks in the forest, not in the fucken sewers. That makes things less scary. I hope they rewrite the script with NO TUNNELS!
I will have to wait and see. I mean, I wish I could be as stuck up as some and judge before I actually see anything. Oh well, back to the holding pattern.
i'm sick of all the "he's human" I wan't a big rotting Jason. Horror movies are really trying to make things to realistic all the time these days,but without Jason being the big rotting zombie he's just another big seriel killer. Wasn't half the fun the fact that the guy was already dead ?
doesnt sound too bad...ok im glad jason is coming back to theatres....wish they would of made more movies in the series like how explain jason goes to hell and space between that time thing and what happens after jason x at the end of the movie.
Atually, I want to watch the f13 remake. I like both human!Jason and Zombie!Jason. However, what ruined Michael Myers and Leatherface is that they killed them off in the remake because they were humans. But as long as they don't have those tunnels or any uncalled rape scene, it's okay with me.
