A scooper tells Cinema Blend that Sylvester Stallone has recently met with Viggo Mortensen and has offered him the role of Edgar Allan Poe in the film Poe, which Stallone will write-direct and produce. Mortensen is considering the role although he wants some slight revisions in the script. This is a unconfirmed rumor, so take it lightly. Considered the granddaddy of the Gothic horror tale, Poe's life is rich with its own eerie details. He suffered from madness, depression and drugs, and was mysteriously found dead in a gutter in 1849. Among his most famous works were "The Raven" and "The Fall of the House of Usher."
