I removed that completely ridiculous and laughable news post from this morning and decided to replace it with something authentic, juicy and even a little sexy. We've been reporting here for months that a remake to Tobe Hopper/Steven Spielberg's Poltergeist was in the works, we even went as far as to report that Mandate Pictures was attempting to acquire the remake rights to the franchise (read more here). We can now 100% CONFIRM - without a shadow of a doubt - that Mandate Pictures will be producing the remake for MGM. This is a fact, this is done, this is not speculation and it's time to quit denying it (yes you sh-tty fan site). The remake won't happen until post-strike, so watch for news in 2008.
WHAT! this has to be a joke, heck no they are remakin this classic. come on!!!!! shit id reather see a poltgergeist 4 than a reamke! oh whoa re they goign to get to play carol anne? only person that would be right for it is dakota fanning or her sister......welp i guess more people are going to start dieing now since people strted to die off the sets of pol. one and two......heather o rourke and everyone else that died will be rolling in there graves......HOPEFULLY they bring back atlest either robie, tangena, craig t nelson or/and jobeth williams......stupid fed up hollywood...crud ok y not remake candyman, childs play, children of the corn, and noes for cying outloud.....leave this classic alone!
Um....if ur bitching about remakes, why say you want ppl who where in the originals to be in the remakes???? so this WONT suck if a big A- list actor like Craig T. nelson "makes an apperance"? um.....ok
You'd think that they would just go right ahead and start shooting this p.o.s, since it's a remake. What are the writers complaining about? There is no need to "strike" since they are simply rehashing an existing script. Anybody can "adapt" a script that's already been made. What B.S.
I agree with the idea that if ANYthing is to be remade, it has to be the meiocre filmes that spurned franchises. Such as Childs Play. Who knows? This could be cool.
Or maybe they could come up with an original ghost story instead? WOW, what a concept!.. Wait, don't you have to pay a writer for that? Nevermind: remakes ahoy.
First of all, I want to say, I am happy for the remake of Potergeist. Have you guys seen that movie in the last ten years? I own them all and just last year I decided to watch them again and...I am sorry to say, they don't hold up. I agree that it has some cool parts, but a lot of it is cheesy and corny. Lets hope to make this a little creepier and add some suspense that the first one lacks.
