THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED B-D reader 'Darryl B' pointed us to a small article on shock rocker-turned-filmmaker Rob Zombie, which included a very small blurb that some of you might find interesting. According to Billboard.com Zombie might direct the remake of C.H.U.D., which Tim Cox was originally attached to. Zombie wouldn't confirm, we'll look further into the matter. In the original a rash of bizarre murders in New York City seems to point to a group of grotesquely deformed vagrants living in the sewers. A courageous policeman, a photo journalist and his girlfriend, and a nutty bum, who seems to know a lot about the creatures, band together to try and determine what the creatures are and how to stop them.
Original- Maybe he can do a Charles Mansion movie with Bill Moseley before Bill looks too old for the role. What happened to the Sasquatch flick! Heck A Undead Zombie flick would be cool too. Fuck this remake trend!
3 for 3? You Prev are lousy at keeping scores. The guy is like 1 for 3 at best, and now he's going to do another remake? To a Monster schlockfest no doubt?
First of all he's a huge hypocrite talking about beforehand how he detested remakes especially ones to classic films, then he remade a classic HALLOWEEN of all films which to much smarter people with common sense knows was just absolutely horrible, now this....
He's a dimestore level filmmaker and needs to quit films altogether.
Highly Tense has a very good point. Remakes should be left to actual filmmakers. Even though I enjoyed House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects... I thought Halloween was weak. It had such a good idea in the begining, but Zombie - still being fairly new to directing, screwed it up. Maybe he should make something better than "just decent" before he goes and remakes films he has no business touching.
corpses was ok, rejects was classic, halloween was ok; if he had differently filmed halloween, i think it would have been alot better. it was too zoomed in and too shakey, unlike the original.. as for chud.. why the hell not? if its going to be remade at least let zombie have it.
First Zombie decries remakes of all types, then he fucking remake Halloween, now he's doing another fucking remake? What the fuck is this guys deal? He broke into the movie business with one shit movie and one great movie just so he can proceed to remake everything he ever liked? I can't believe this fucking guy.
I remember C*H*U*D from when I was a kid, came out around the same time as the Stuff.
C*H*U*D stands for Chemical, Humanoid, Underground, Dweller.
Not sure it was good enought to be granted a remake though, although neither are a lot of the remakes they seem to be churning out. At least with Zombie attached it may be half way good. I know a lot of you hate Zombie, but I quite like his work.
I remember seeing an interview about two years ago with Zombie saying that he hates the state that horror is in right now with all of these Hollywood remakes. That he would never do one, and what happens, he goes for the money and remakes Halloween. Which was awful! After all the bad reviews it had received he said he would never do another remake. Well looks like he lied once again, I guess when your music career goes to shit you have to make that money somehow, why not ruin some great films in the process. Great job Rob! Go get em'!
