I will never understand it... either these people think we're f'n stupid or nobody is on the same page anymore. At this year's AFM one of the most talked about upcomign projects was George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead 2, which was officially announced with a piece of a art to companion it. So what's with Romero now talking as if the project won't happen? Read on to see what he had to say and cross your fingers that someone can figure out what the hell is going on.

"I'm not sure where that came from," Romero said when IGN put the question to him. "I wouldn't mind continuing the discussion, but nothing is decided yet. Euphoria seems to have set in even though the film has only screened about six times."
He continues, "The only way I can see it being worthwhile is if we use the same characters, which would be the first time I have done that. I don't have an idea yet, but if the idea and the money can meet somewhere in the middle, it's possible."
You can read more about it at the link above.
Here's the synopsis that was released to press: The “diary” saga continues. Our heroes, trapped in the mansion where we left them, battle waves of ravenous zombies, barely escaping alive. In search of a safe place to settle, they commandeer an abandoned ferry and sail to a deserted island, only to find that it is already populated by a civilization of the dead. Told in the same first-person style that distinguished “George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead”, the next episode of the saga is a violent siege set in the middle of nowhere, a desperate struggle for survival, and peace, between two tribes: the living and the living dead.

I thought him and everybody wanted to make it really bad. |
That artwork isn't official, is it? |
Why can't Romero come up with something original? Doesn it always have to deal with zombies? |
I'm still waiting on Diary of the Dead 1. |
God, what a turd of an idea this is. Romero lost it after Day of the Dead. And I'm sorry, but if he keeps making teen slasher films I don't know what I'm gonna do. After I watched Land of the Dead then Diary, a little part of my soul died. I'm not anticipating this. |
