One of my main problems with Rob Zombie's Halloween (review) was the length and with a director's cut coming in at 11-minutes longer I'm not sure if this is something I even want -besides, I like the workprint about 50x better and wish that would hit DVD. Anyways, inside you'll find the final specs for The Weinstein Company and Genius Entertainment's release of the film, along with the cover art.

DVD Art exclusive to Bloody-Disgusting:

Fangoria writes: The Weinstein Company and Genius Entertainment gave Fango the first word on the final specs for its DVD releases of Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN, coming December 18. The movie will be issued in both the R-rated theatrical version and a widescreen director’s cut running 11 minutes longer; the former will be presented in both widescreen and fullscreen, while the latter will be letterboxed only, and all will have Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks. Both will be double-disc editions chock full of special features:

• Audio commentary by writer/director Zombie
• 17 deleted scenes with optional Zombie commentary
• Alternate ending
• Re-Imagining HALLOWEEN documentary
• A Conversation With Rob Zombie featurette
• Meet the Cast featurette
• The Many Masks of Michael Myers featurette
• Bloopers
• Casting session footage
• Laurie Strode screen test

Retail price for both versions will be $29.95; cover art is coming any day now!

So they are releasing two version of Halloween on same day. One theatrical version and one director’s cut version? Is the director’s cut version the infamous working print? And if not whats the difference between the two? Why the hell do they do this crap. I guess it's all for the $$...

Why do they need to plaster UNRATED so friggin big on DVDs these days. Especially when nearly ALL of them have an unrated version now...

i loved the theatrical version and can't wait for this version. i always thought micheal was a weak slasher, now i know he was the blueprint for all the others like jason and freddy it's just that jason and most of the others did it better, until now, micheal rules. jason is still #1 but i really like what zombie did with this series.

I'm going to laugh when the Director's Cut is the version that gets a little praise. Seriously, if anyone watched the theatrical release, work print, and read the circulated old draft of the script, it's obvious that Rob's vision was SOMETHING genius. Too many chefs in the kitchen..... I bet the Director's Cut is going to mix the theatrical and work print. Maybe other deleted scenes(Michael letting other Smith's Grove patients out of their cells).

Does it really matter? The workprint is actually better (minus the rape scene and a couple other things), but you still got the seizure camera, amature dialogue and character development, and terrible script. Other than that, it is fantastic! The 11 minutes could be stuff from the workprint or just things Zombie kept out on purpose. Who knows and who cares? Everyone is going to get it anyhow.

Wow. Just got back rom the special rerelease of 4 and 5 and I gotta say that I feel as if I've finally been able to put something to rights. I can now say that ROB Zombie's halloween will not be the last Myers experience that I'll ever have on the big screen. Thank God for that. Anyway. What happened during the screening of 4. The movie cut out and went to an intermission screen and then to a windows desktop stretched out over the entire screen. A theater attendant who was taking a fair amount of heat for this claims that the screenings were on a satelite feed with no reels, and that this was a problem on the Dimension end occurring simultaneously nationwide. Can anyone confirm this for me (at least the part about the twenty minute halt to the movie) I CAN confirm that a competing theater from a diferent franchise called up the, located 10 miles away, called up our theater and repored the same difficulties (apparently looking for information). Did the screenings go out nationwide. Anyone who went, please report back.....

Rob Zombie now going to remake chud. He should do original material I liked Halloween but I want to see him do his own thing again.

Sorry, found out that he isn't remaking CHUD but a movie that isn't horror. Wow this could be a disaster.
