Could 'Blade' Become the Next Comic Rebooted?

It really funny how I was just thinking about New Line Cinema's Blade comic book adaptation and how it really is already outdated. I know it's not even that old, but watching it now it just doesn't have that same effect on me that it used to. So when I received the following e-mail I can say I wasn't that surprised. B-D reader 'Marlowe' drops is a line with some unconfirmed news claiming that there's a reboot of the Blade franchise in the works. He explains that it's something that the comic property wants, not necessarily New Line Cinema (who might not even be involved.) Who knows how true this is or why they're doing it, but our reader is guessing it's because of the whole 30 Days of Night craze or maybe the Hulk re-launch too. Watch for any official word as it comes in and remember, this is a RUMOR until confirmed. Why don't you guys chime in below, what do you think?

Yeah I really don't think the first Blade is as outdated as you make it. In fact it's still pretty cool. Certainly better than it's two sequels. Though I'm really neither for nor against this reboot idea.

It's the comic book and the TV series that need the reboot. The movie should be left alone.

They need to reboot part 2 and 3 since part 1 is perfect. Why should you have to reboot the entire franchise if the sequels suck, but the original movie is really good.

BD - Absolutely! - Reboot everything! I was looking a painting yesterday and I wondered to myself, can't they 'reboot' other things as well? Like great novels and art? I mean, everything's just so outdated I don't get that same old warm feeling from them any more. Th Blades are good movies - but how am I supposed to enjoy them when they are so old?! Thank God hacking other people's ideas is so popular... where would we be without all these awesome remakes?

Kudos for trying to be funny ^^ Anyways, I wouldn't mind a new one too much. I don't really like Snipes... although the first one wasn't hardly as bad as the next two.

The first one was the best, the second was decent, but the third one just felt rushed and disjointed in parts. I think a new angle is in order....

you guys are crazy Wesley Snipes is the shit in Blade. They should just make another blade but more seriouse and scary.

Sorry, but you have to be on crack or suffer from horrid taste if you think Blade 2 sucks compared to Blade 1. Blade Trinity can go to hell, but Blade 2 blows both of them away. It's better in terms of directing skill, visual style, ACTION, fx, acting since Snipes looks like he's having lots more fun playing the role, and just overall better put together. B With that said, I don't think it needs a reboot. Should we just update everything just because it's getting up there in age and doesn't look as cutting edge now as it did back then?

So, what exactly makes it outdated? The fact that it doesn't have the same effect on you? Um...ok...

The Blade series doesn't need a re-boot, just more movies. The TV series was so-so, but nothing special. The first Blade film is not outdated. Far from it. As for the third film, I do agree that the theatrical version is pretty blah. But, there is a waaaaay better version available. A fan edit called "Behead The King" by CBB. You can acquire this 100% better edition of the movie from FanEdit.org. After seeing this edition, you'll never want to see the original again.

A reboot would kick ass. Seriously, I loved the first and the second... but the third was just a pile of steaming crap. It sucks to have such an awesome series end on such a crappy note. The reboot sure worked for Batman, I don't see why it wouldn't here. I'd be in line opening day for sure.
