UPDATE: Don Mancini is in talks to both write and direct the remake, according to the site... Is Don Mancini's classic '80s killer doll movie Child's Play the next on the remake block? The answer is a yes, something that B-D has been quite aware of for a few weeks now. Unfortunately we were sworn to secrecy and now the dudes over at STYD have uncovered some heavy details from producer David Kirschner! no way!!! not chucky.... i go along with justin_voorhees... i mean look what happened with halloween... do we really want a horny killer doll to be remade, i'd way much prefer a sequel! then this shit... i really hope htye don't. I don't ind remakes but for films like freddy and chucky... well they have personality... where jason and michael don't i mean they do... but they don;t have a voice and they walk and they're only known for their killings with a machette or mchaels knife kinda thing!!! i dissagree... i really hope this doesn't go ahead... and also they can never replace andy barkly!!! that kid was too perfectly cute!!! i say leave chucky alone... its only been leik 20 years or sumthing... i say leave it longer and... JUST NO!!!
Looking forward to the remake,this way we get a scary Chucky,plus he won't look like a damaged toy,which won't make someone want to throw him away,and he won't have a doll family with him...

The thing that bothers me about all these remakes is the fact that these remakes in most cases don't remake anything new! They play in the same sandbox with the same plot and characters of the original. I would much rather a remake that reuses the main character/villain, but reinvents the everything else. Keep the icon change the why and what. That way it's justified by simply saying "We didn't want to be called a knock off, and we didn't want to do the same thing" ------For example. Friday the 13th. Don't have Jason drown as a child. Don't have him be a mongoloid. Don't have his mother go into a rage and kill camp counselors. Have her be the victim of an incestuous rape------ The cops answering a domestic dispute call- find her/Pamela (13 years old) in the kitchen in the fetal position holding on to a knife. Her stabbed to death "Uncles" body laying next to hers (pants dangling around his ankles)-------
She lashes out with the knife when they approach her, and she is shot. She is taken to the hospital and thats where the signs of sexual battery and abuse are discovered. She is also found out to be pregnant. She remains in a unresponsive like state. She has no more Family/Legal Guardian, so her case is given to Defax. Shes placed in a Mental Health Center. The Judge signs an order to give her an abortion. She escapes During the move/transfer from the Mental Health Center to the Abortion Clinic. ----------------11 years later a Clearing Crew working out around New Forest State park in Pinehearst County go missing. A rescue crew is sent to the immediate area to locate them. They find a axe wielding Pamela Voorhess instead. She attacks the police and rescue searchers. She is killed during the attack. Lil Jason (10 years old) watches unseen from the distance. A camp site is built in this cleared out area a few years later. It is burned down a few days before opening- Arson is suspected---- More years pass. A new owner buys the land and builds a new campsite it is called "Camp Crystal Lake". The son of the owner invites his friends too the new camp site for a weekend escape. We all know what happens next....------- The hockey mask is used as a bathroom keychain holder at the towns local gas station the owners of the gas station tells one of our characters that the mask belonged to a Robber who tried to pull one over on him, and thats all thats left of said Robber. One of our characters steals it, and fibs a tale about accidentally dropping it into the toilet-----------------------
So theres you mask theres your back story and now we are all set to set it off! Main thing is it's all new shit!------------ I have self submitted the stuff in here to many emails to protect it as my own- My name is Charles Walsh, so don't you dare think about nicking it. It's mine. I was just presenting it as an example of how you "Powers" should try to change things around. Which you don't do in most cases. you just take shit up to "11" and retell the same thing beat for beat.
Well, I think this has a chance of working out but seriously who is gonna get scared over a killer doll. I think the original series is great some mistakes but nothing is perfect. All I ask for is that it has a different take on it and still entertains such as the original did. When it comes to remakes I could care less about FRIDAY the 13th series. They have almost no story to them. In all honesty I don't think it is as good as people make it out to be. Especially when they say Jason is better than Michael Myers. Halloween series buries friday's alive. Well, afterall Friday series was just a rip off series anyhow. Brad Dourif has to return because who else is gonna master the voice after Brad Dourif gave such a great proformance as the doll.
God I totally feel PG-13 in this...I'm gonna be sad if its not R
