Gregory Wilson's highly anticipated Jack Ketchum adaptation, The Girl Next Door (review, trailer), is heading to DVD on December 4th from Anchor Bay Entertainment. Features include Audio commentary with Wilson, producer Andrew van den Houten and producer/cinematographer William M. Miller, Audio commentary with Ketchum, Farrands and Nutman, The Making of The Girl Next Door documentary, Cast and crew interviews, the Theatrical trailer and the DVD-ROM screenplay. In the film a teenage girl is held captive and brutally tortured by neighborhood children. Based on a true story, this shocking novel reveals the depravity of which we are all capable. This doesn't look like a horror film at all.

my mom told me about this long b4 i knew about the movie. i am from indiana and mom knew about it. it happened in 1965, not 1958. slasher freak, this may not look like a horror movie to u, but just think, if u had to live thru what this girl did, it would be horror to u. just becos a scarey movie does not have a lot of blood and gore does not make it less effective. Psycho (1960) was a horror film, but what did u truely see? nothing thats what. so until ppl realize that a horror film is not just all blood and guts, but a storyline with suspence and maybe a little gore, u will get remakes and that prolly all heather

The book was brutal, I can't image how they will bring this to film. I can't wait.
