Hollywood Gang, the shingle behind "300," has optioned the rights to the graphic novel The Last Christmas, written by actor-comedic genius Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan. The company's Gianni Nunnari will produce, while Craig J. Flores will executive produce, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The story follows Santa Claus as he withdraws from normal life and turns his back on Christmas. When he emerges from seclusion, he has to find a way to save the world, and Christmas, from being overrun by demons, zombies and other bad guys. No writer has been tapped to adapt. Anyone? Anyone?
It would be epic horror comedy in the right hands and direct-to-dvd in another's. The adaptation isn't a problem, it's when they settle on Joe Lynch to direct... A shame really.
i like the concept. anytime they turn santa on it's head is good for me.
