B-D's SpookyDan begged me to share this information with ya, so here we gooooooo, "If you are a horror hound in Los Angeles this weekend you're in luck! We have the Eyegore awards over at Universal to kick off the Halloween Horror Nights, Knotts Scary Farm is in Full swing now as well. Aside from the kick ass Haunted Attractions, one of the best parts about living in the heart of Hollywood, are the film festivals. BD tends to lean toward reporting on the major ones and shy away from the smaller ones, but there is one I wanted to let you all know about Shriekfest - the longest running horror film festival in the State that still sticks to it's roots." Read on for details.

Hollywood is dripping with horror this weekend!
By SpookyDan

Shriekfest has been around for 7 years and is becoming one of the hidden gems of the film festival circuit. If you want to see the movies that really are truly independent in spirit, then Shriekfest is for you. This Friday through Sunday the festival will be screening loads of horror films, some good, some not as good, but all are labors of love. Get a chance to see where the distributors learn about upcoming films, meet filmmakers and actors, and support the genre. Over the past few years we have become great friends with many of the filmmakers involved and discovered some diamonds in the rough. If you want big Hollywood glossy movies, then go check out Resident Evil 3, but if you want something a bit more obscure and edgy, head out to Raleigh Studios at 5300 Melrose Ave in Hollywood, in the Chaplin Theater. Check out the website www.shriekfest.com for ticket info (Cheap! Only $8 for a particular film or program. They also have full festival passes for sale as well!).

See you there
