Some awesome news this evening as Bloody-Disgusting has just learned that Victor Garcia has been officially attached to helm Slaughter for Maverick Red with Dominique Swain (pictured inside) attached to topline. Swain will play a young actress who travels to a remote desert location to shoot a film called "Slaughter," only to discover she and her co-stars have been cast in a snuff film and must fight to survive, say the Hollywood Reporter. Bobby Darby and Nathan Brookes' Slaughter, winner of the 2007 Slamdance Horror Screenplay Competition, is an homage to Japanese cult horror films. You can read more about the script acquisition here. Victor Garcia is best known for his short film El Ciclo and will see Return to House on Haunted Hill - his direct to video sequel - on DVD October 16 from Warner Home Video.
