What's next for the great Guillermo del Toro? The Pan's Labyrinth director is prepping to finally shoot his highly anticipated adaptation to At the Mountains of Madness as his next project, according to Latino Review. The site also reports that the film will see a release by Universal Pictures. Long acknowledged as a master of nightmarish visions, H. P. Lovecraft established the genuineness and dignity of his own pioneering fiction in 1931 with his quintessential work of supernatural horror, At the Mountains of Madness. The deliberately told and increasingly chilling recollection of an Antarctic expedition’s uncanny discoveries–and their encounter with untold menace in the ruins of a lost civilization–is a milestone of macabre literature.
This is GREAT news... fucking awesome.
The only concern is how he will go about making a film based on a story of collected narrative. Should be very interesting!
I am now fully erect, if anyone can do it, Del Toro can.
