It's not obsolete...It will be out of print and still a Criterion DVD...It will still be worth something...

Its true. Even though the new versions will be revamped, the older ones still bring in the dough, even though not as much. I just went onto eBay and took a look. The original 400 Blows still goes for about $60, compared to the new one that sells for about $25 brand new. It used to go for over $100.

The Robocop is excellent. It is the unrated version, which features a little more gore. As for the Woos, I have Hard Boiled, which is a great bullet opera by any means. Got it for like $25 on eBay a few months ago and it is completely authentic (Which I am very suprised about). As for The Killer, it has gone down in price a little bit (Used to be about $150 on eBay, but now its like $60). No matter what you use, there is always gonna be someone to throw a movie on there for $250 and no one will ever buy it. Theres always gonna be someone in need of quick cash that doesnt have time to have it sit on there for months before someone gets it. I'd just wait around for it.

Your copy of Seven Samauri could actually be worth quite a bit of money if it is the version that has the restoration demo on it. Goes for upwards of $70 on eBay. The regular one still pulls in the dough, though, for about $20-$30.

there are some masterful bootlegs out there of Woo's C.C.s Best way to be sure is to check the play side of you hard boiled disc and make sure it says "NIMBUS" in italics on the inner ring. there's some other signs but thats a sure bet bootleg if you don't have that

I wouldn't really call it a double dip. The new transfer is done with technology that wasn't available with the original release. I bought it last year but have no problem laying down the money for the new 3 disc set.

It looks as if the Brazil set has the same features. I'm not sure if it's the same transfer or not but I'm just going to wait for it to be released to buy it.
