Default Saturday Morning Massacre {2012}

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2321501/

Director: Spencer Parsons

A dark and bloody parody about a Scooby-Doo-like team of paranormal investigators and their devoted dog. With the crew nearing bankruptcy, they're hired to get to the bottom of a series of spooky events at the remote Kyser mansion, an old religious school plagued by rumors of satanism and ritualistic murder. They're experts at debunking ghost stories, so they get right to work, and despite the ominous signs that this isn't just another greedy land-developer or bitter landlord, they set up to stay the night. When the sun goes down, the truth comes out: this place might actually be haunted...by sadistic spirits or something much, much deadlier.

*Rated R for bloody violence, some strong sexuality, nudity, drug use and pervasive language ; )

Sounds an interesting twist to the original concept, the parodies are by nature, but this sentence alone is enough to get my interest.

Unfortunately. it was not as fun as it sounded, I was really looking forward to this, but found that by the end of the film it was treading old ground and in a not very interesting way. I'll have to call this one a fail but I would be interested in hearing other opinions.

To me this was a very lackluster effort. I wouldn't call it bad or good; it was worse...it was dull. This movie wasn't fresh or original. On paper the idea seems like fun, but on film it's very dull and uninteresting.

Unfortunately I can't get a hold of this here in the UK. I wish I could though, this looks fun!

Apparently it's call Saturday Morning Mystery now though...?

I came across this randomly one night at redbox. It sparked my interest as I had never heard of it. Everything about this movie had tremendous potential, unfortunately it didn't live up to the potential. The movie was all right but failed when it tried to be scary. Great idea for a movie though, maybe somebody else will give it a shot in the future.

Need to revisit this one sometime soon, found it a real fun watch and a great take on Scooby Doo style show but obviously in live action format!
