I saw something about this on FB today..

I dunno, I loved the first, but I don't want it to turn into some shitty thing. With lame CG etc.

We'll see what happens I suppose.

Lame.

The first film stretched it's very thin concept to breaking point. Del Toro just managed to hold it together. Just.

No interest in sequels unless they get some decent actors.

Not gonna lie, wasn't feeling this shit at all when I saw it in theaters. Thought it was a mad overrated CGI fest the only strength being not as overtly stupid as Transformers. Def look at it better now though... interested in a sequel for sure. Could do without Idris Elba and Charlie day doing their respective dumb shit this time around. Love them but eh fuck off

I'll see how I feel on a re-watch.

The first movie already did that.

I don't know...really like the first film the first time I watched but couldn't stand it the second time.

I rather watch the films its paying homage to than ever watch it again.

I'm with you guys. I was flat out bored with the first. I can't see how you could fuck up that concept, but they did. The acting and characters sucked.

god, i fucking LOVED pacific rim. all the things y'all didn't like, i loved, the opening, the battles, the character interactions. really, the only thing this movie could have done better for would have been to give us more perspective shots, like monsters fighting in front of crowded beaches. loved charlie day, loved ron perlman, i desperately want a sequel to this movie.

My favorite action film of 2013 was Pacific Rim, and one of my overall favorites. Thought it had incredible action, great homages to older monster films and anime, amazing effects and was overall a blast. Haters everywhere be damned.

I love the opening and the dream sequence (or flashback?) with the little girl. That was great.

I loved the first one. I saw it with my dad and two younger brothers in the theater. my dad is 55, one of my brothers 24 the other 10, im 26. me and my brother who are in are twenty's loved it and took it for what it was, my dad came out of the theater saying "what the hell was that? an hour and a half long episode of power rangers?". my youngest brother though it was going to be the avengers with robots..

I want to see sequels. but they will need to thicken the plot for that, or take it in a different direction. but as a stand alone film, i think pacific rim is great the way it is.
