I think thats pretty damn greedy if I might say so myself.
If the industry keeps going the way it's going, physical media will be a thing of the past, and stores like Gamestop, and EB, will be strictly online.

Personally, I think we're headed for a big crash. Greed and complacency will be their ultimate downfall. Pay to play online, day 1 DLC, micro-transactions, etc. Then there are the games. When people finally get sick and tired of FPS's, and TPS's the industry is fucked. Like Guitar Hero fucked.

Yeah I totally agree with you there. The more digital media advances the less need there will be for hardcopy discs and whatnot. People like most of us who were born with an Atari and then welcomed in the NES and so on can appreciate the days of cartridge games which I think are less complicated than these newer gen systems and games because it was once all about having fun rather than using it as a means to making a lot of money. I honestly dont see much more that the game industry can do I mean a lot of games already have insanely great graphics and now its all about how big of a social network they can make the collection of users who own that specific system, its fucking stupid.

This is exactly how i feel about the PS4. I understand that they want to make more money, but it sucks for us gamers.

Backwards compatibility is not really a big deal any more. It's not like you have to get rid of your older systems when you buy a new one. Plus leaving out backwards compatibility makes the system cost lost to make which in turn means ti will cost less for us.

It's just that not everybody has the table space for two or three different consoles. It's nice to be able to play all of them on one system. If i have to pay more for it to be that way, so be it...

If it doesn't have backwards compatibility there is no way in fuck I'm getting it for years. I pretty much only use my ps3 for blu-rays and the occasional bought of Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect 1 - 3.

Ever since I got my gaming PC that's been my primary.

I thought Sony was going to let Microsoft show off the Next-Box first? I remember reading an article either last month or late last year about it on IGN. Guessing Sony is in that dire of a situation?
