Default The Cottage (2008)

I just saw this movie and it was pretty funny. Lots of references in there to other horror movies, and it even has a cameo by Doug Bradley.

Now, when you say this, do you mean they reference these other horror movies by title and specifics, or in a subtle head-nod?

Umm.. I guess you could say head-nods, but theyre not so subtle..

Spoiler Below
Theres a couple to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and one to The Predator, and the killer reminds me alot of Victor Crowley from Hatchet

Not the greatest of movies, but it does have its gory moments, and I found it entertaining

I saw this in the cinema and I actually found it to be really poor. Some parts were hilariously funny, others just really annoying. If the director had someone to reign him in a bit the movie would be so much better. There's like 2 jokes to every minute. No exageration. So when you have 5 jokes within the space of 3 minutes which just aren't funny you can end up getting annoyed.

I'm with you but I'll still give it a rent when it drops.

It was a solid flick, except for weak "deformed farmer" makeup and a first half that seems interminably long. Plus, I'm real sick of the unlikeable British dork character... see Evil Aliens, Severed, etc.

I felt that The Cottage left alot to be desired. I had hoped it would come through with a really entertaining movie, but felt it fell far short of this goal in both the slow, dragging character development as well as just a weak script. The shining moments were those that had Doug Bradley in them..no matter how briefly.

That Doug Bradley cameo was garbage... totally pointless and he didn't really do anything. Just an excuse to put "Doug Bradley" in the credits and on the box.
