The Descent (2005)

what did you guys think of this, i was really impressed at teh start, i thought they were going to take it down the psychological thriller route, focusing on the claustrophobia and having people hallucinate and try to kill each other and stuff, cave monsters just arnt scary anymore, this movie was very little different from the cave, another train wreck of a movie. When some one makes a movie set in a cave thats good ill be the first in line to see it, cause being trapped 2 miles under ground is scarier than anything else i can think of, but cave monsters isnt just not at all

the cave sucks compared to this.you can see everything coming but in the descent you really get the scares.its an exercise in film making compared to that shite.the cave sucks so bad.ok it gets a little familiar towards the end but damn the descent was goood.see it in a cinema and you will get the full effect.

maybe, but like i said cave monsters isnt that great a concept for me, i find people scarier than cave monsters that cant see. And its such a shame cause i really think your have a balls to the wall scary movie if they set it in a cave andthe people turn on each other. I imagine it like lord of the flies but in a cave, with adults.
i just didnt see any of the scary bits...but i do have to admit i was loving this movie right up until the cave monsters showed up than it was just all to familiar, but you are right, it is definatly no were near as bad as the cave (fly cave monsters that mutate people into more monsters a virus in an underground cave that makes people into monsters fucking lame not scary just lame)

dvd, i know watch it in cinema for the full effect...but i still doubt id have enjoyed it to much...it wasnt terrible, but i wouldnt buy it on dvd

seriously you are missing out on a great film if you dont see it at the cinema.its not as good on dvd,but still a great film made on a relatively low budget.neil marshall has a lot of talent and i hope he gets a chance to prove it with a bigger budget.this guy knows what people want to see.but its all about opinion,and you are entitled to yours.best horror of 2005.

I actually really enjoyed The Descent. I saw it a couple years ago in Europe and then DL it and then bought the SE 2 disc DVD and will definetly be seeing it in the American theaters. The Cave was pure garbage compared to this. Like someone already said, there are genuine scares and real cool gore effects. Awesome movie!!

i would definatly go and see something else by this guy, but i think the story for this movie was weak, and cliched...but i can see potential, lets hope his next movie has more going for it....
