Default The Reflecting Skin (1990)

Has anyone seen this?

I bought it on a rather odd premise: Marilyn Manson borrowed some elements from the conceptof the movie to base his rock persona on. As Manson has introduced me to a lot of things I wouldn't otherwise be aware of that I later enjoyed, I thought I'd give it a shot.

It's... uh, one of the strangest movies I've ever seen in my life, and I've seen a lot of strange movies. It's not overtly surreal - in fact, it's filmed in almost a made-for-TV style. But it's beautiful for all of that, speaking to childhood innocence lost. I'm not sure I'd call it a horror movie, although it (superficially) deals with vampires. That said, it's definitely horrific on a level few actual horror films begin to reach.
