I actually watched it again about a month ago. For the most part it is a complete mess. There isn't a single likable character in the whole film, outside of maybe Sheriff Brackett. I don't like homeless Michael. Loses something without the mask.

Why make Laurie a huge bitch?

Why does Sheriff Brackett's house look like shit? He's the sheriff, he should be able to afford a decent home.

Why is there a white horse in this film? It's "explained" in the opening, but it is still lame.

Why is Loomis in the film? He has no impact on the film until the last minute.

I think the film would have been better (perhaps much better) if Laurie was the killer and Michael was dead. The film kinda hints at it, but it must have been dropped.

because her whole world has been upended, everyone she loved killed, her brother turns out to be the murderous party, meaning she kinda drew him to all of her loved ones. her life sucks, she became bitchy. it's a coping mechanism, one that she lays down while cradling dying annie.

he suddenly finds himself with a brand new daughter, and both of the gals in his house are recovering from a major trauma. they are adjusting.

to anchor this movie to the prior one, and to suggest that loomis created the adult michael monstrosity. and to show what happens to good people sometimes when success comes their way. and to show that such people can find redemption.

yeah, but so far so good. i mean, i get it, a lot of people don't like it, a lot of people hate it, which is, of course, just fine, but it fascinates me that we of all people (by which i mean horror fans) can get so judgmental about taste, and in particular one movie. it's like folks get more upset about others liking h2 than the actual movie itself. to me, that's a pretty interesting sociological reaction, and one that merits consideration, and at least civil conversation. but thanks. i believe the spirit of friendly conversation can triumph over all...
