Default Toolbox Murders (2004)

I caught this flick on Showtime a few days ago...

All in all it wasn't too bad at all. Acting was passable, creepy atmosphere and some really great kills and gore effects (I loved the semi-decapitation). I wouldn't say this is a complete remake of the original 1974 film...the ski-masked killer and nailgun kill are still there but this film is almost completely different and superior.

Angela Bettis was great in this movie as well...

Take caution though...plot-holes galore...but still its good to see Tobe Hooper getting on the right track again.

Anyone else seen this?

I didn't think it was so bad.

SPOILER

Seeing the guy get half his head sawed off was pretty cool.

I never saw the original Toolbox Murders so I didnt have much to compare it to other than Tobe Hooper's other works. I really liked the concept of the building within the building and the killer looked phenomenal compared to other low budget flicks.

And the kills kept my attention =)

not too bad of a movie might pick it up in the near future

I have this on DVD, only watched it once, I should give it another go. I thought it was ok, maybe I'll like it more the second time around.

It was alright... I'm not a big Angela Bettis fan personally. The last 15 minutes were pretty good though.

This is one of my favorite contemporary slashers around (and High Tension)- I want an unrated cut!

I saw this on Showtime too, not to long ago. It's a pretty good action Horror movie. Rob Zombie's wife plays in the movie too. She doesn't last long in it though.

The best part of it for me was seeing Juliet Landau again. Hadn't seen her since her Buffy days. She's still smoking hot.

The story was alright. Bettis was great and the atmosphere was good. Still, it's not something I want to see many times.
