Default Stephen King's IT remake

So, as it was reported IT is being remade. I personally am pretty excited but what is everyone else thinking?

A few of my friends would rather it didn't happened because it will probably just be another poor movie to add to the list of remakes...

All this thinking about IT and Pennywise is making me want to dust off the book!

It's been in discussion since 2009 I will believe it when it finally hits pre-production.

They better keep it closer to the book than 1990 mini-series as the book has so many more stories and characters that need screen time to build up the creature known as Robert Gray.

Carrie, Pet Semetary and now It, it must be open season on remaking Stephen King flicks. I'm game for a film version of It though.

i think since this is more or a re-adaptation rather than a remake of the mini series things could possibly be a lot different which im very exited to see. personally i cannot wait to see this movie i hope this version will go with the darker tone on the book rather than just totally rehashing the mini series

I'm all for it. Loved the original two, but they seem very dated now & Tim Curry is the only thing about the movie that manages to truly stand out.

I also haven't ever been a fan of the ending. Pennywise tells the children they view him as a clown because their tiny minds can't fathom his true form, but it's a giant spider once we get to the end. I'd like to see something that looks truly hideous, horrific, & otherworldly.

I'm all for this remake. Beyond the iconic terrifying look of Pennywise I never cared much for the original mini series/ movie. Also it hasn't aged well at all. I think most people look fondly on the movie because of Pennywise. People remember and talk about the clown but I never hear anyone talk about how good the movie was.

It will once again be very interesting how the ending is handled, the book presents some "unique" ideas......

Especially if they bring the turtle into the fold.

Most people don't understand that pennywise the "clown" is a very small part of the book because he takes on the form of their fear which the new movie adaptation should take note.

I think the only way this would work is if it's a mini-series or TV show. The book is so massive I don't see how it can be properly adapted for a single film.

I agree.

The book has so much in it and it would be a shame to see it gutted for a two hours film. A two parter or TV mini series would be the way to go.

If only Netflix & HBO had the balls to pick up some of Stephen Kings shit or something like Twin Peaks. It's easier said than done to get the rights to things but they would make serious bank on a Dark Tower series.
