What game are you playing now?

Fanboyism wasnt intended but I only mention long time fans as "pre FFVII" because more so then not when talking FF, FFVII was the first FF game a lot of people heard of due to it being next gen with hyped 3d graphics and in their mind, it was the first FF game. I know that isnt rampant here but on videogame boards, its brutal. Regardless of what they think, there was 6 other games released over 10 years before VII.

Well, those people are stupid then. Like I said, the main complaint I always hear is "it's too easy!". Meaning, "My special little nerd club, isn't so special anymore, because everyone can enjoy these games now".

Its all good and wasnt taking any comments personally. Im too used to dealing with the real fanboy ignorance on other boards and why I made the comment I did out of habit. Im glad one thing that fanboys of VI and VII can agree on though is that XIII was a poor effort.

Thats a pretty bold statement to make and Im sure some would agree. I still consider FFVI the greatest RPG released on the SNES though. Chrono Trigger is definitely in my top 3. As far as Chrono Cross goes, I played the shit out of that one back in the day. While it wasnt as great as Trigger, it was still an awesome game. I loved that it has such a massive cast of characters that I believe needed 3 or 4 playthroughs to unlock them all. Such a shame that a lot of people over looked it.

I never did get to play Chrono Trigger, but Chrono Cross was RPG heaven. I've still got it somewhere. It still has the best combat system ever in a JRPG. Didn't they also have some time-travel mechanic in the game as well? It's been a while, but I remember pouring around 70 hours into it.

I'm waiting for a PSN release of it, so I can play it on my PSP. PS1 games look ugly as shit on an LCD, for some reason.

Chrono Cross had parallel worlds that you traveled through. doing something in one, could effect the other as they were connected. it was pretty unique. I hope they eventually make a sequel. the director is the owner of Mistwalker now, so I don't think we'll ever see a true sequel with the original dev team.
