I enjoyed it. A fun violent movie where the bad guys win in the end (not common for franchise movies). I never held the TCM series on this pedastal anyway (outside of the original movie anyway).

Still my favorite is probably TCM 2 and that's mainly for the absurdly high fun factor it had.

Me too. Actually I watch it at least once a year, its atmosphere and sound design is so captivating, I like the coloring of the whole film too. Can't find any major or distracting flaws in it. Waiting for the Blu-ray.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who digs the film. It's an excellent example of TCM done right.

Not too bad, but I prefer the remake.

Definately had a mean streak, a mile long. I hated the lazy ass ending though. Hiding in the backseat? Really? That's the best they could come up with?

One of the better rebooted franchises out there.

I saw it years ago. It was alright, miles better than the remake, and better than The Next Generation. The first 3 are the only ones I really care for.

I didn't like this movie at all. It's way too nasty and mean.

It's a shame because I quite like the reboot.

This lacks that surreal, grisly feeling that the remake captured so beautifully. But, it's still a pretty good slasher, even if it does make Leatherface a lot more Jason-esque than he oughta be. It also takes away a lot of the mystery behind the family. In the remake you have no idea how they got to be so fucked up, or when and where it all started. You got just a few pieces of information to make you wonder, & to me that was a lot scarier.

This does have good replay value, which I didn't initially think it'd have after I viewed it the first couple of times.

It really is a heartless bastard of a movie.

Its one of my favorites in the series for sure.

Me too, & even though it has a drastically different atmosphere than the remake, I still love the feel of the movie, because it maintains it's own level of grit.

Admittedly, I hated Leatherface's first skin mask that appears in the third act, but I've grown to like it more as time has passed.
