The only one that I own is Jungle Holocaust; it was a gift from my brother. I enjoy them to a point but the animal torture stuff bugs the hell outta me. I have actually seen - in person - the Huaorani of Ecuador roast a live pig. It was quite tough to witness but to them it is part of life, pig probably thinks otherwise. Strangely that image is more disturbing to me than any I ever saw in combat (maybe I just have a social disorder and hate people). I like the films but I bypass the animal scenes normally unless some "virgin" is watchin w/ me. Oddly the Huaorani migrated to their present home because they were fleeing the cannibals upriver. Anyway, nice thread. There are two that I have not seen but will search them out now.

So how good or bad is Cannibal Holocaust II? Is it worth checking out or should I just stick with the first one and forget the second even exists?

I've only seen Cannibal Ferox and The Emerald Jungle so this list helps me out a lot. I enjoyed both of those films.

Jungle Holocaust and Cannibal Ferox are definately my favorites out of the bunch. They were the only ones that felt like real films to me. Cannibal Holocaust is a bit over-hyped these days, but is still an OK flick. Mountain of the Cannibal God was stupid as hell, but I had the hots for Ursula Andress ... so I picked it up. Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals was hilarious. With lines like "Watch out, she has just bitten a chunk out of the nurses breast" you can't help but shake your head. Massacre in Dinosaur Valley felt like Romancing the Stone with cannibals for some reason (don't ask).
Out of the films listed, the only one I don't have is Amazonia. I have yet to see Eaten Alive, Man From Deep River, or Diamonds of Kilimandjaro ... though they are in my collection. |

Not sure, I'll have to get back to you on that one. I don't think it was Ferox, but I was interrupted midway through my last viewing of the DVD, so I can't say for sure. It sure as hell wasn't 'Holocaust', but I imagine you already know that...Anybody else know the answer to this question?
