I'm yet to see it. I've never seen it around here in shops, and whenever I check eBay or something its like $30. And I don't feel comfortable spending that much on a blind buy.

'The Fly' (1986) is probably THE best horror remake. Don't get me started about 'The Thing', as it's a great film but not a remake! It's the second adaptation of the short story 'Who Goes There?'. It's vastly different from 'The Thing From Another World', and is more faithful to the original source material.

"The Fly (1986)".....David Cronenberg has given us another one of his masterpieces. The makeup effects are wonderfully disgusting and brilliant!! Wonderful directing, top notch music score, and solid special effects also highlight the film. Not to mention a small but solid cast. The Fly turns out to be a very well acted and emotional tragic love story. It greatly surpasses the original '58 version. Jeff Goldblum is fantastic as "Seth" and is worthy of an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Its a crime he got overlooked. Geena Davis is wonderful as "Veronica" and John Getz is splendid in a supporting role. Also love the cameo appearance by Cronenberg in the dream sequence. Better than the original and one of the best horror films and remakes ever made!!

10/10
