all i have to say is HOLY SHIT! I generally have a good memory of my childhood when it comes to stuff like that but I completely forgot about those. I used to have them too with the record.

DVD im sure is way better, but still I find it to be more enjoyment when i find it on TV and not once have I ever passed it up when it is on. there are movies I have that some times I prefer not to watch cause I have the DVD and have to be in the mood, so if they come on TV I will watch them cause I know if I get up I will miss a part even if I know whats happening. there is no FFW or RW, so i kcould watch it.

May sound weird as i think it does but makes sense for me, atleast.

GREMLINS is one of my top 5-6 movies ever. It was one of the most importan events in my formative years. 1984 was a great year all around. I was 13. I was obsessed with the movie. I read the novelization--which I still have--many times. I bought the official movie magazine--still have that, too. Don't have the Hardees stuff but those are way fucking cool. I have some original toys and figurines somewhere, too.

The movie has images in it that changed the way I looked at movies. The composition and lighting that Dante is a master at. The snow. Corey Feldman slingshotting those fuckers off his roof. Dick Miller talking about "dubya dubya I I." The cut from Hoyt Axton in Chinatown to the opening credits and song. Just fucking gives me major nostalgia. It's a great, great movie and I love evry frame.

The dvds are awsome. Great commentaries. I think the sequel is almost as good as the original, but it's not as fuzzy a memory. It is, however, a fucking laugh riot. John Glover is really funny, as is Picardo. The f/x are great. Christopher Lee is class, as someone else pointed out ("Malria....I already have Malaria....") The movie is pure joy, really, and just goes out of it's way to please you. Even the Hulk Hogan bit cracks me up.

I watch Gremlins every year at Christmas time. I've loved this film since my childhood, and the sequel is also great fun. Much more creative than your typical rehash.

Gremlins is a great movie, a classic to be sure. Its just a fun movie, espically the first one. You owe it to yourself to check it out. No its not really scary, but when I was a kid, one line at the end always got me:

"Turn on all the lights, open all the doors, check all the closets, look under the bed. Because you just never know....there might be a gremlin in your house"
