Down a seedy city street in her neighborhood, young Enola Penny is obsessed with what appears to be a long abandoned theatre. One night, she sees that the front door is slightly ajar and impulsively decides to sneak inside. But there in the dark, decrepit auditorium, a show unlike any other unfolds before her eyes. Its host is an eerie human puppet named Peg Poett who will introduce Penny to six tales of the bizarre: A couple traveling in a remote part of the French Pyrenees cross paths with a lustful witch; A paranoid lover faces the wrath of a partner who has been pushed to her limit; The Freudian dreams of an unfaithful husband blur the lines between fantasy and reality; The horrors of the real world are interpreted through the mind of a child; A woman addicted to other people's memories gets her fix through the vitreous fluid of her victims' eyeballs; And a perverse obsession with sweets turns sour for a couple in too deep...

The Theatre Bizarre, is an anthology of several medium-length films performed by prominent directors.
Douglas Buck, Buddy Giovinazzo, David Gregory, Karim Hussain, Jeremy Kasten, Tom Savini and Richard Stanley.

Yeah, i've actually been keeping tabs on this for a while. It looks all around excellent as far as i'm concerned and it's garnered a good deal of favorable reviews as well. Pretty suprised a thread didnt already exist.

This flick has been around at some film festival, it garnered there some eyebrow-lifting. It's already on my to-watch-list too.

I just finished watching it, and these are my impressions of each of the stories:

"Mother of Toads" A story that entertains, with that air that Lovecraft's stories have.

"I love you" This story is full of conjugal humiliation, psychological abuse, love, madness, infidelity and knives. Good.

"Wet Dreams" Tom Savini directs this short also about relationship problems, but otherwise. In this case there is no love as in "I love you" but sex, wet dreams and enjoyment with the torture, the purest style of the Saw series or similar.

"The Accident" Strange, dark and delicate short, that does not fit with the rest. Here prevails the message and reflection over the visual. The weakest of all.... I think.

"Vision Stains" Directed by Karim Hussain (the director of Subconscious Cruelty) The anthology gathers force in its last section, for the first time one of its short, work combines grotesque imagery and narrative based on an original concept. Definitely my favorite. Excellent.

"Sweets" is a collection of unhealthy sexual paraphilias, grotesque and emetic, linked to the intake of all types of sweets. Perversion as a feast of sweets and sex. Very good.

The horror arts eh, looks like what everyone said. It's got that French feel plus a bit of other. Might check it out sometime
