He could let him heal in captivity and keep torturing him. Instead the method he chose, risked his victim vanishing and never catching him again, or waiting for him with a gun next time and killing him. It was a pointless, and unrealistic gimmick which reminded me of the road runner cartoons.

No, the plot was much more sensible. I cant think of something more stupid than catching a dangerous killer, and repeatedly letting him go, and doing it all again. The idea that is this to 'fuk with him' is silly. Locking him in a room and torturing him endlessly would have done just fine.

Wouldn't have been a long or entertaining movie would it?

It's a cat and mouse, cop vs serial killer thriller so locking him in a room...ah fuck it.

Hmm, I think I have to see it. I just hope it isn't one of those films that try too hard on the theatrical aspect.

No, which is why I said its a gimmick movie. Clearly some people dont mind, and just enjoy the show, but Im the type that prefers something more plausable in my movies.

Wow. Now you're just trolling, and not bothering to even attempt to hide it.

So I guess astounding acting, jello-thick atmosphere, breathtaking cinematography, mind-bending gore and emotional drain just aren't your cup of tea, eh?

I know some people pick a genre movie to hate on just to be different. That's cool, I guess. It is causing "conversation." But I'm physically incapable of shutting my brain down for senseless shit and gimmicks, (I shut The Expendables off in 35min) and thought I Saw the Devil was possibly the best film I watched last year, period.

Its fine if you didn't like it, but stating that its a "gimmick" and people just "enjoyed the show" starts to sound ignorant. This was as fine an example of film as craft that this genre has offered in many years.

Carry on.

Interesting, why did you say so? I mean, real life serial killers have done what Lecter & Doe did, right?

Although the closest thing to the Sloth victim was perhaps Delphine Lalaurie,

You’re looking for plausible in horror movies Does the everyday violence on the news bore you? If you want plausible, humanity is much more sick as a whole than any movie I have ever seen and its not plausible its reality. I love horror because its fiction, it makes me excited, taking me away from the true evil of society everyday.

Anyhow, I think this movie as a work of Art one of the best films I have seen since Antichrist.
