That sounds a bit more traditional for a Bond theme. Not bad.

I'm still waiting for Portishead to be asked to do one. If there was ever a band that would suit a Bond theme to perfection, it would be them.

Not an Adele fan, but this is really good. Sounds like classic Bond and a lot better than a lot of other recent ones.

I think my personal biases against Adele, Daniel Craig as Bond, and Craig's previous Bond films is keeping me from caring about this. I probably sound like a broken record but I can't wait until they pick a different actor to play Bond.

I know lots of people think that. I think he's lifeless and almost plays the character like a dead-pan comedy actor would. He's boring. Casino Royale was ok but Quantum of Solace is the worst Bond film for me. The only thing this new one has going for it is Mendes directing.

I disclaimed that these are my personal biases. Quantum of Solace was so horrendous I almost hope that they stop making Bond movies just so they don't fuck it up anymore from me. I remember a while ago getting into an argument with someone here about how I just can't accept how they have changed Bond's character to make him more "modern". That's probably true, but that doesn't change the fact that I hate what they've done with him.

I get the changes to the character, especially in this post Jason Bourne movie world. He needed to be updated and I think the changes have been positive.

As for QOS, I agree with you that that one was a huge letdown, especially after the excellent Casino Royale but the new one has an excellent director attached and so far it looks pretty good. Can't hurt having Javier Bardem as the villain either.

QOS is the only Bond film I've seen in entirely. (I was at the cinemas). I've seen bits and parts of older films, but never had the chance to just sit and watch one, normally come in mid-way through or have to leave early.

I didn't like QOS at all, and it sort of put out the flame I had to sit through any Bond film.

Unfortunately you picked one of the worst Bond films to start you 007 experience. I really didn't care for QOS either, but Casino Royale was great, and most the other films are good and many are excellent. I grew up with Goldeneye, so that's my favorite. I also think the Timothy Dalton Bond films are underrated, and like both of those quite a bit. Definitely check some of the older films before writing off the 007 series.

You have to see all of Connery's Bond films. Quantum of Solace is an absolutely laughable and ridiculous piece of action. It doesn't have any of the suave, class, comprehension, or entertainment levels of any other Bond movie. It's 2 hours of shaky cam with some blonde guy driving cars really fast.

Check out You Only Live Twice, Goldfinger, From Russia With Love, etc...
