Hell yeah! I believe I got it for about $5 as well Way better than the original. Take THAT people who don't like remakes! (add that to The Thing, The Fly...maybe its a 'The' thing...no wait, The Fog. maybe its an 80s thing?) Either way, great cheezfest flick!

I have to say I really do prefer the original. I don't know if it's just because I can't stand Mini-Dillon or the fact that the Blob looked like the crap that oozes out of one of those stress balls when they break open. They're were some cool moments in it, but I still like the B&W version much better, not to mention I used to watch it on the Creature Double Feature on Saturdays growing up and it always creeped me out.

i think the remake was a great film, the original was good too, but id have to say that it is one of those instances where the remake acctuelly gets the original idea across better then the first time it was done, all in all i give this movie a 6/10 it would be higher but due to its great cheesiness it goes down a peg, i mean its nowhere near a great remake such as the thing, but its good in its own ways

I remember this one, great movie. You can watch it for free on Comcast On Demand. Just go to free movies and it's there

At least this one is better than "Beware The Blob"...

fuck yes! isnt it great to see shawnee smith come back to horror, in the Saw movies.

also, does anyone else see the similiarity of this remake to the fog remake? i mean seriously, impending doom crawls towards a quaint little town. the first attack is small but eventually causes a chain reaction throughout the town. as the blob/*pfft i mean fog devours the town block by block, the main characters make sure they save the kids before they are all cornered by the "evil" somewhere close to town square.

dont forget the journal that was thrown into the sea / or the frozen blob cube that could insure a sequel if the interest persisted.

back on topic- the blob attacking the theater scene is flippin awesome

It's a very underrated movie, It's so great but gets no respect. They made corny sci-fi into an awesome effect fest. No CGI could beat what they did. The "government conspiracy" is a bit far-fetched but they had to make it different.

I love a flick that's not afraid to have the main monster gobble up kids. I too enjoy this version more than the original, and have always hoped for a sequel.
