Punk/Cena was fucking amazing and probably the best match we will see on Raw this year. The predictability of the whole thing is lame, but once you accept that and enjoy it as a stand alone match, it was a classic. Up there with the Shawn Michaels/Cena rematch from Wrestlemania 23 IMO.

So after last night, I have to admit that the WWE limiting certain moves, and overall carnage, might be an alright thing in the long run.
Did you hear that crowd pop for the piledriver on Cena? Years ago, it would've gotten no response at all. You'd have to do a frogsplash through two tables covered in thumbtacks, to get that kind of crowd reaction in 2000. I could live with them upping the anti every year for WM, to make it a bit more special. |
