He's got his moments, no doubt, as far as filmmaking is concerned. I can't say I really get the hate. I enjoy (and own) House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects. However, I loathed both Halloween installments for reasons that I've gone into many times in the past (and no it's not because it's a remake and follow up sequel). I can see how some hate all of Zombie's films though.

I was gonna say cult classic, but it's a bit too popular. What is a modern horror classic, really? I think 30 years from now, people will give TDR credit as one of the top horror films of the era.

As I said before I really enjoyed RZ's first 2 movies but when he remade Halloween he really pissed me off. Im kinda starting to see this movie as just some pile of shit. Sure it looks visually enticing but Im getting sick of his wife being in everything he makes. So were they just sitting around one day and Suspiria came on tv immedietly followed by Hocus Pocus and Rob was all like "hey what if I made an adult version of Hocus Pocus with the visuals of a Dario Argento film?" and Sheri was all like "Like OMG thst would be so cool! I have to be in that movie honey!" and then Rob remembered his wife has his balls in a vice grip and he agreed to let her be in it.

Rob is good so I enjoy his music and his films have been at least watchable but does that mean I'm excited for this one? Probably not and I will watch it when it comes out on dvd or beforehand but as Heretic said at least the guy is doing his own thing!

Anchor Bay is more marketed towards dvd and tv show releases so as far as it being a big wide release I don't see it happening unless Sony steps in again so it may be slimmer but Rob's fans will come in droves and the film will probably make a decent profit so hopefully a bigger studio will come to him for an idea or offer and he will keep churning out ideas and visions.

Let The Right One In comes to mind. Devils Rejects definitely doesn't.

I can think of more than a few horror movies made in the last 10 years that are way better, but to each his own...

Definitely Martyrs, Saw and Hostel as well. The Devil's Rejects is a good film, though many purists won't necessarily call it horror in the first place.
