The Ring Novels are awesome, and so are the movies (Ring, Rasen, Ring 0, Ring 2), I even like the remakes in their own way.

I also have to recommend the Korean remake, The Ring Virus. Quality stuff.

I didn't care muh for Rasen,Ring 0 was pretty interesting I thought in that it shows Sadako's backstory.

Although I thought The Ring (US) was just okay, the scene where the horse jumps off the back of the ferry has stuck with me ever since. Very powerful imagery.

I'm a big fan of the original as well as Verbinski's 2002 remake. I also love the prequel, Ring 0: Birthday. Yukie Nakama is masterful in the role of Sadako Yamamura, and should have won an aware for her portrayal of ghostly horror, the last 15 minutes are insane.

The movie really is more of a Shakespearean tragedy than horror though mind you.

I won an art contest based on Ring 0 a few years back.

Rasen is a good movie, but couldn't quite hit what they were going for. The book was able to do a sucessful transition from urban legend to scientific horror because it was a book and had more time to work with.

Rasen is kind of like, the underdog of the ring theatrical movies, it made no money and was reteconned within a year

The Ring Virus was crap imo. I didn't really like that one. I haven't seen Rasen, but it looks quite good. (I dunno why I answered that statement) lol.

I think The Ring is one of the best horror remakes. Eerie, and visually beautiful, I actually think it's better than the original. Ringu did seem a tad more creepy at times. And I thought that the sound that came up with the 'x days' titles were really effective and creepy.

I don't like the remake, but the original is a good Japanese ghost story. I've also seen Ring 2, which is a worthy sequel.

Usually, I am one of the people who says the original is much better. Well, Ringu WAS better, but The Ring was still very good. Both of them were very creepy.

I didn't think the original was all that scary, but I saw the U.S version first, so I already knew what to expect. I really enjoyed the cinematography in The Ring. I think the Ringu 2 is scarier than The Ring 2 though.
