Heh. Just saying tho, it's no longer a project and concept doomed to half-ass-ed-ness due to the effects and makeup being beyond a practical budget.

I'm pumped on this news. I'm a big Dredd fan and own a lot of 2000 AD comics.
Having Urban on board is good. He's got the intensity and presence to pull off the character. If Karl comes in to work again I can grill him about the whole deal.

From Super Hero Hype:
Olivia Thirlby has joined the cast of Judge Dredd, reports Variety. Thirlby will play Judge Cassandra Anderson, a psychically powered rookie Judge who teams with Judge Joe Dredd (Karl Urban) for training. Set in a dystopian future, the British comic book adaptation focuses on a police force given the power to act as judge, jury and executioner to whomsoever they perceive to be part of the criminal element. In the 2000 A.D. comic book series (within which, Judge Dredd is a recurring story), Anderson goes on to lead the city's Psi Division, maintaining an uneasy friendship with Dredd. Judge Dredd will be directed by Pete Travis with a script by Alex Garland. It was previously adapted into a film in 1995 with Sylvester Stallone in the lead. The character of Judge Anderson did not appear in that iteration of that franchise. ![]() ![]() Source: http://www.superherohype.com/news/ar...in-judge-dredd Last edited by Vlad The Impaler; 09-04-2010 at 04:46 AM. |

Nice. I like how they've even kept his weapon similar to a few that have shown up in the comics. I'm interest in seeing who the villain/villains are.

I like it. I think Karl can rock that helmet, and unlike the Stallone version, we'll be seeing ALOT more of it. Not just ... you know ... 20-30 mins.
