Fuck yeah Matt Reeves directing

I was disappointed the first time I saw the first movie (expected more) but LOVED it when I saw it again.

This is going to be epic.

"Rise" exceeded my already high expectations and was one of my top films of 2011. A fantastic reboot to one of my favorite film franchises.

The only Apes film I flat out dislike is the Tim Burton remake.

I can't wait to see what "Dawn" has in store for us. Reeves is a great choice.

Yeah, my expectations were simply in the wrong place. All of the word of mouth I had personally heard made it out to be something totally different from what it was. It's an outstanding movie. One of my favorite of 2011 as well.

Reeves is a perfect choice. I see Franco isn't returning for this though?

From what I read it's suppose to be a decade into the future from the last.

Yeah I think the timeline of the film is the reason why Franco isn't in it. Plus I remember him saying he wasn't that interested because Rupert Wyatt wasn't directing it.

One of my top film franchises for sure! Though NOTHING will top the original; it just can't be done.

Burtons is awesome visually. Everything else is pretty damn weak though; such a shame.

Loved Rise; even though I bashed the fuck out of it before seeing it. I was blown away. I can't wait to see this next one. War paint. Awesome.

The best thing about Burton's remake was Rick Baker's make-up FX. Amazing stuff.

Tim Roth was pretty good as well.

Other than that? Nothing. Shallow and empty script, incredibly wooden performance from Marky Mark, plot holes galore and that fucking ending. Even when I saw this as a kid in theaters it caused me to face palm.

Glad Fox gave the franchise another shot with Rise.
