Cate Blanchett and Kate Winslet Appreciation Thread!!
Both of these actresses are 2 of the best ones working today. I am soooooo happy Winslet finally collected her long overdue Best Actress Oscar this year for The Reader. I think Blanchett was sorely overlooked for a Best Actress nomination this awards season for Benjamin Button. I guess her 2 nominations last year kind of hurt her chances for this past year. But I think that is bullshit!! Another one of her great performances were overlooked. I hope the new Robin Hood movie is a big hit next year..and will get some awards buzz going for it.

One of the biggest upsets for me was when Gwenyth Paltrow won Best Actress for "Shakespeare In Love" instead of Blanchett winning for "Elizabeth". The Academy went all ga ga over "Shakespeare" that year for the 1999 Oscar show.
 But oh well....Blanchett will get her Best Actress Oscar real soon. At least she has her Supporting Actress Oscar which she won for "The Aviator", to keep her company.
