There are doing another version of it, so maybe you will get a closer adaptation this time. My main problem with King is that his style is very dry. Others have told me that is the same problem for them as well. I wish his stuff nowadays had the same flair as the script he did for Creepshow. One book I really liked a lot from King was actually about the Boston Red Sox.

I think most audiences want the films to be explained in great detail instead of trying to figure it out for themsleves. The film is one big mindfuck and I think that puts them off of it. Even I did not fully appreciate it when it first came out, but nowadays I consider it to be a very good film that is very underappreciated. I even consider it one of Carpenter's last good ones.

True story. Thankfully that collection has every one of his good movies before he started releasing garbage.
