Being happy is relative, so it's important to note that he seemed happy, not that he didn't look happy to us, and his life ending in ruins is completely speculative, and doesn't really make sense given all the random crazy shit he went through in the movie where he almost dies. That's the whole point though, Rev. He didn't change his life, and it did come crashing down on him, and his girl.

Spoiler Below
In fact, Roger seemed pretty damn happy, outward, and inward, smiling, ripping people off for their paintings, and using the money to spend on his wife. His fault was that he was too naive to realize all she wanted was a baby, and he isn't even forced to confront his scheming ways, until Clas comes into the picture, and messes his life up, by fucking his girl, and trying to kill him. That whole ordeal did cause him to change, hence the ending with his pregnant girlfriend.

That movie is the german version of Emily Rose and I must say, I was a bit disappointed. As a noob to the true story behind all this, you don't even know until the end what's exactly going on with her. She hears voices and acts against her own will, but you don't get the feeling, that her situation is much more serious than depicted. It felt that it lacked more background and maybe some CGI hints as well. Documents form her ordeal prove, that her suffering was much more intense and horrid.
On the other side, I liked the sobriety and the washed out look of the movie, it added much to the desperate state Michaela was into.
Bottom line, I prefer Emily Rose over this.

6/10
This movie was much more of a subtle character study piece than Emily Rose could ever hope to be. That shit was a court procedural. I think you got the movie, but you didn't get the movie. I assume you don't have a mental disease, but she did, so in the end, you are left feeling exactly like each of the other characters. The religious (the priests, and her parents) believe that she was possessed, but her two friends, were left questioning the entire thing. None of them knew for sure, except Michaela, and that's the point. No cgi hints to sway you in either direction. you either believe, or you don't. That was a recurring them throughout the film. I got to check it out last night, and and I agree that I liked that washed out look, as well, and Sandra Hullers acting was noteworthy. I'd give it an 8/10

2001 Maniacs - First time watch. I had a nice time, with Robert Englund, and Lin Shay! Love these 2. Add in some silly, extreme gore, and camp, and you got a fun story of ghostly southerners, who still live in the past. 8/10

Compliance - ummm if you want to watch a movie that will make you extremely cynical, then go ahead and watch this. It'll show you just how stupid people are, by adding in that tagline, and stats, to prove it existence. The set up, is some random dude calls a fastfood restaurant, and pretends to be a police officer, and tells the manager that one of the girls there stole something from a customer earlier, and that they ahve to take her in the back, and hold her there, until the police arrive. It's a movie about a troll, sitting in his basement, jackin' it to some guy sexually assaulting a girl at her job. I guess its purpose is to show that 9-10 people who work at ff chains are dumb fucks, including the manager. 2/10

Legend of the Fist: Return of Chen - starring Donnie Yen, this is a sequel to the Bruce Lee flick Fist of Fury, in which Chen Zhen was not shot at the end but instead survives, through war, and goes on to start a Chinese revolution when the Japanese are trying to occupy China. Donnie Yen kicks all sorts of ass (and even manages to try some Bruce Lee voice), as usual, in some nicely framed action shots, and the war story, though a lil Ip Man-ish works. 7.5/10

Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007 - Goes through the history, from the very beginning, showing Ian Flemming's history with the book, and the first movie (Jimmy Bond ) to the actual beginnings of the Franchise, and all the actors, and plots of the movies, and their different levels of popularity. All the Bind talk in the draft thread, and this documentary has gotten me into checking out the older Bond films. For that I give it a 10/10

Now I don't get what you mean here.

That is the point, but the filmmakers have pretty much shrouded this relationship, since her very last days proved, that she in fact was possessed - by more than three entities/or, well, demons. She entirely gave herself up before the real ordeal started, because she believed that she has to go through it in order to fulfill god's will. And she had the resemblance of the case of Theresia, who was mentioned in that film as well. She was in the end to naive and religiously confined by her belief in god, whom she believed that he chose her to go through misery in order to save others etc. Ultimately, she became in the end a victim of her own beliefs, which were heavily forced on by the priests.
Thankfully, they did show that in the movie. And at least her boyfriend must have had second thoughts, since he was the one who accompanied her home, in which really things started to get ugly.

I agree on all accounts... I read into Clas' motivations in a similar way... And Roger definitely had to change.

These effects are below Sci-Fi channel level. And l swear to god, Dracula turns into a giant grasshopper and kills people. l'm not even making that up. I don't think Dario gives a shit anymore...The guy that plays Drac (some Euro-dude l've never heard of) isn't the worst l've ever seen, but hes no Gary Oldman. Rutger Hauer gives a passable performance as Van Helsing, but looks and sounds as if hes reading his lines from cue cards. The best part of the movie: Asia Argento's boobies. 4/10
I haven't heard anything good about it. Also, Lugosi > Oldman. Oldman would be second. Or atleast on par with Lee.

Anyone else see that Disney has NO intentions (or plans) as they put it, to release anymore hand drawn films? A part of me died.

"Rabid".....This 1976 Canadian classic is a solid horror film!!!! One of David Cronenbergs best horror movie's and a big fave of mine. The lovely pornstar Marilyn Chambers is hit and miss in her performance. She had some great screams, hysterics, and facial expressions..but her acting was mediocre for the most part. The same goes for her onscreen boyfriend played by Frank Moore(Hart)....who also looks alot like Christopher Walken. His best moment was his last scene. The screenplay is strong and directing is top notch, but some of the dialogue is weak and laughable. Nice special effects for that time/budget and some blood/gooey gore also highlight the movie!

8.5/10
