"Night Of The Demons (2009)".....This remake is entertaining in some ways and a big let down in others. First of all, the makers should have stuck closer to the original and its storyline. I liked the cameo appearance by Linnea Quigley and that they at least stuck with the character of "Angela". The cast was so so. Liked the character of "Jason" and the actor who played him. The creepy looking Edward Furlong( who is looking more and more gross these days) was sickening to watch. Didn't like the character he played and didn't care for the performance either. Found the female cast to be just a bit better than most of the males. The gore was good and the soundtrack was booming. Screenplay and directing are both weak.
4/10

"Cinderella".....Disney's 1950 classic is superb!! One of the greatest Disney movies ever and one of my favorites. It is a delight to always go back once in awhile and watch these classics. Only gripe about this one is that the character of the Prince should have been featured more. Catchy music, fun and exciting characters, and spectacular animation!! Magical!!

Django Unchained - 10/10
Miller's Crossing - 9/10 I used to think that this was the Coen Brother's hidden masterpiece. After watching it again something about it just felt stilted or like something was missing... Still a beautiful, violent, and memorable gangster film.

Paranormal Activity 4- A total waste of film and time that does nothing to advance the story of this entity and the people it surrounds. And l'm a fan of the first three films, but this one just feels forced. 5/10
Seven Psychopaths- Eh. lt was decent but nothing special. Feels like it was trying to be quirky for quirkys sake. 6/10 The Dark Knight Returns- Part 2- An excellent animated Batman film. Not as good as Under the Red Hood but a close second. And its surprisingly violent as well. Joker goes on a killing spree that must be seen to be believed. 8/10 |

Blood Simple - 10/10
Perfect suspense/thriller. Heart stopping, shockingly visceral in its violence, and somehow complex and meaningful as only the Coens know how to do.

Superman vs the Elite - 9/10: Tied with Under the Red Hood as my favorite DC animated movies. It was really good and had some nice questions about Superman's ideals.
Night of the Living Dead 1968 - 10/10: Still a masterpiece and the best zombie movie of all time. |
