This is one movie I can recomend to anyone, even people who hate horror movies. It's beautiful and moving and intense. One of my top ten of all time.

I haven't seen this in a few years and it still works for me. Great cast, excellent cinematography (although a tad too dark), fantastic score and (K)NB's FX work is top notch as usual.

Roth's best film as a director (although my personal favorite is the first Hostel)

Interested in seeing what Scott Spiegel does with the third film.

"The Howling 6 (1990)".....Werewolf vs.Vampire? It actually isn't too bad of a movie. There is barely any gore or vicious killings, but the makeup effects are pretty decent with what is actually shown. I noticed alot of these Howling sequels are scarce on the bloody gore and actual death scenes. The main cast is actually good (surprise surprise) too. Standout is the handsome Bruce Payne as "Harker". Love the carnival setting. The showdown between the werewolf and vampire is good, but could have been a few minutes longer. They also have Elisabeth She' from Part 5 listed in the credits as "Mary Lou", but she is not present in the movie at all. Kind of a weird glitch!! Anyway...this sequel is actually pretty good.

"The Happening"...Oh boy was this a MISS!! Shyamalan's second movie in a row (Lady In The Water) that was a flop!! The cast was all over the place. Beefcake Mark Wahlberg was all over the place with his performance. Zooey Deschanel as "Alma" was a complete disgrace. Couldn't act worth shit!! I was so hoping for her character to get killed off!! John Leguizamo was fine in his bit part. Only real saving grace in the cast was Betty Buckley as "Mrs. Jones". LOL..loved her!! The beginning of the movie with the strange phenomenon happening to people was thrilling. People jumping off buildings,shooting themselves, and whatnot. It was a bit shocking. But then the screenplay/dialogue kicked into gear and the movie went downhill from there. Huge letdown!!

Lars van Trier really needs to learn how to say more with less. There were way too many superfluous scenes that bogged down the movie. The visuals were great and the acting excellent, especially Kirsten Dunst who deserves an Oscar nod, but the story just got lost in itself too much.
