Default [NON-HORROR] Best Films of 2014

Well, it's almost award season and the big guns are coming out. Gone Girl just hit theaters and over the next month we're going to be getting Birdman, Fury, Nightcrawler, and Interstellar, among others. From the low-budget indie flicks to the big budget blockbusters, we're set to finish off a pretty amazing year for cinema in these upcoming months. I can't remember a year this good in a long time. Too bad horror couldn't follow suit.

For me, my best of list looks like this so far.

1.) Boyhood (Richard Linklater)
2.) Under the Skin (Jonathan Glazer)
3.) The Grand Budapest Hotel (Wes Anderson)
4.) Nymphomaniac, Vol. 1 (Lars Von Trier)
5.) X-Men: Days of Future Past (Bryan Singer)
6.) The Immigrant (James Gray)
7.) Edge of Tomorrow (Doug Liman)
8.) Enemy (Denis Villeneuve)
9.) Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Joe & Anthony Russo)
10.) Maps to the Stars (David Cronenberg)

Honorable Mentions: Coherence, Locke, Snowpiercer, Willow Creek, Blue Ruin, Joe, The Raid 2, Guardians of the Galaxy

Too bad things aren't looking too great for Fantastic Four, but Age of Ultron should hopefully make up for it.

What's up with Fantastic Four? I've only heard that the guy who did Chronicle is directing it, which seems like pretty good news to me.

I don't see Marvel faltering any time soon.
