Default Blade Runner (1982)

Quote:
Los Angeles, 2019: Rick Deckard of the LAPD's Blade Runner unit prowls the steel & micro-chip jungle of the 21st century for assumed humanoids known as 'replicants'. Replicants were declared illegal after a bloody mutiny on an Off-World Colony, and are to be terminated upon detection. Man's obsession with creating a being equal to himself has back-fired.
-IMDB

This movie is a classic. I felt it deserved it's own thread. Discuss how you feel about the movie, what your favorite aspects are, ect.

On this list are probably 11 of my top 25 favorite movies ever.

There are some amazing movies on that list. Alien, The Fifth Element, Terminator, Hardware...just to name a very limited few.

Really cool movie. Beautifully filmed and scored. The directors cut and final cut are SO much better without that awful clunky voice over by Harrison.

Just a brilliant film and easily one of my favourites. Has anyone read the book this was based off? And if so, is it any good?

Yes, it's very good. It's pretty much nothing at all like the movie and will have you wishing that someone in the future makes a Blade Runner straight from the source material...Or maybe that's just me. It's an easy read. Pick it up if you like the movie.

With that said, I love Blade Runner. It's one of my favorite movies.

Also, this thread can stay open. The other one is ancient and is about the DVD release, not the movie.

Slightly off topic but have you read A Scanner Darkly ? I really enjoy the movie and am wondering if the book is much different.

Well I'm making a big Booktopia order soon so I'll have to add this to the list now. Thanks for the reply

Love this film, I have to watch it everytime it comes on HDnet movies.

BTW what "cut" is best to buy on Blu-ray?
