Alien. Basically because it had more of a horror element to it and that atmosphere was excellent. Aliens was just as good but it had a different aspect to it. More action and Sci-Fi. I just like Alien better. I liked all the Alien movies to come to think of it.

After watching Alien and Aliens back to back last night I'd have to say Alien is the better movie.

I like the slower suspenseful dark atmosphere of the first Alien than that of the action packed Aliens.

Also I thought it was kinda cheesy Aliens copied the end of the first movie where the queen alien hides on the ship, pops out and Ripley has to send it out into space yet again.
Still loved the ending though.

But both films are an absolute pleasure to watch!

Now I will be watching Alien 3 sometime tonight and I remember loving this movie as a kid, it will be interesting to watch it tonight and see if I now hate it as much as other people or still enjoy it.

Edit - just watched Alien 3 and was very disappointed, I don't hate the film but it's not how I remembered it, all the characters were disappointing as well as the storyline.

Alien. I love both but I prefer the more horror aspect to Alien. Also I think Alien has aged a little better than Aliens as Aliens really feels like and 80's movie.
