That's pretty much how I feel. It's been a fun ride but it's nowhere near being a well written show. The only horror tinged shows I tend to be excited for every week are this, American Horror Story, and Dexter anymore.

Lionel's mum was a Sumatran rat monkey bite victim - she was suffering from rat disease, she wasn't undead and the underwater zombie in Fulci's 'Flesh Eaters' was fighting the shark with his teeth, not trying to eat it.

It's a bit rare to eat other than human, but I've seen them eat worms, birds, mice, in horses in mainstream movies.

In some not so mainstream movies I've seen a zombie tiger. Then there's everything in the Resident Evil movies, but I'm not always so sure the beasties are zombies in all cases. And heard of a vegan zombie movie, never saw that one tho.

the only zombie lore that has made specific need for zombies to eat human beings is their brains in return of the living dead cus "it's the only thing that makes the pain of being dead go away." otherwise it's all speculative by us. i like the notion of zombies eating other meat cus it...makes sense that they fucking would. they gonna run outta people eventually. i can dig that they prefer longpig, but you know, necessity is the mother of invention.

i think they really fumbled the ball on this episode. don't get me started on the race stuff, and the pathetic use of t-dog. that michael rooker gets the last word makes me pretty fucking annoyed. t-dog didn't even start talking till two seconds ago. of course the second he starts asserting real thoughts and ideas it's time to die, but not before giving his life nobly to save a white lady.

but then to have one of the most dramatic moments of the show--laurie going into labor while on the run, separated from everyone in the spooky flashing lights of the bowels of the prison and then to deliver that cheesy fucking speech to carl. it really took away from what was initially fucking insanely riveting. rick's poorly acted response didn't help. i also don't buy cynical, hardened andrea's sudden gushiness about the governor. fuck him already, but don't buyinto his insincere pack of lies. why wouldn't you trust michonne's "gut"? seriously? bullshit.

still, i enjoyed the episode immensely, but it could have been an all-timer if handled properly.

And the zombies in Return of the Living Dead Part II were at one point attacking a pet store. Guess what they were doing with the animals?
