I LOVE Ho1000C. It's great. Devil's Rejects was okay, but nothing special.

Both were sub-par films from a talentless hack.

I still hold The Devil's Rejects in high regard. I can understand the hate, but for me it was a blast.
In retrospect, I can see Rob Zombie for the hack he is. I think this truly was the best we're gonna get from him, whereas when it came out I thought he could only get better. I was wrong, as the trailers for H2 will easily clarify. This film however, was a breath of fresh air at the time. Horror was on a high, and this pretty much capped it all off. I LOVE the characters, and the progression they made in a mere two films. Otis just rocks, and shed his ridiculous look and role from the first, to grant the best performance we are likely to see from Bill Mosely. His scenes(especially the 'fight' scene), are quite memorable. Sherri Moon does a great job(Yeah, yeah, LOL..) as Baby, and her intense scenes with Wydell near the end really carry some scenes that could have been filler. Sid Haig rocks as always. Sheriff Wydell makes the film though. Without William Forsythe's intensity, this movie would have really suffered. He makes you believe in his vendetta, despite the ridiculous world it is taking place in. So yeah, I still love TDR. |
