Forum Upgrades and Where did my friends and profile comments go? - BLOODY-DISGUSTING

As you can tell we've performed a few upgrades to the legacy and community sections of BD.

Two issues I'd like to clear up right away are...

- Where did my friends go?

Unfortunately there were incompatibilities when we upgraded and the "friend" status of people in your buddy list was lost. The good news is, they are all still there in your contacts list, simply go through and click on the box to mark them as a friend and once they accept you'll be "friends" again.

- Where did all my profile comments go?

Again due to incompatibilities between versions profile comments were lost. We did post an announcement about this and asked that you backup anything important.

- Can't access user blogs

The use blogs/journals will be upgraded to be a fully functioning blog, and your old entries will be imported into the new software. This should happen in the next few days, until then you won't be able to access them.

There are bound to be tons of other bugs, so please use this thread to report them and I'll be working to get everything in order as fast as I can. Some of you might find your avatar isn't working, and that's being taken care of now. You can either wait for us to fix it or change your avatar yourself.

With that being said, please don't use this thread to complain about things or rant about how much you hate the new software. This thread will be for bug reporting and constructive criticism and suggestions only.

Some new features to note are...

SOCIAL GROUPS

You can create groups for pretty much anything, make them public or invite only, and add images and post messages. We'll be featuring the best and most popular on the front page (horror related of course).

USER ALBUMS

We've upgraded to a new image gallery and you can now post in multiple galleries to keep your images organized. Your old images ARE still on our servers and will be moved into the new system shortly.

UPDATED USER PROFILES

The user profiles have been reorganized and have a few new little features. I suggest you explore and play around to see what's available to you.

One thing to note is the facebook-esque status update under your username. Click the edit button, enter your status, then hit the edit button again. One more place for you to break the rules and earn yourself an infraction.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or bugs, feel free to post them here. I'll be staying up for a bit to make sure there aren't any major problems, but I'm tired and have TV to watch...

also fyi, we WILL be releasing a new skin without the sidebar for those of you who like the wider look like we had before.

how come when you click the BD logo, it takes you to the news page instead of refreshing the forum page?

we wanted that to be consistent throughout the site, so if you want to refresh the legacy page or go back to the legacy front page from where you are click the INFECTED logo or the legacy link in the nav bar.

It's good. It's amazing to see how far the board has come since I started here, and I wasn't even on here in the beginning. The only issue I'm having is that my avatar sometimes shows up and sometimes doesn't, but I figure it's a bug that will be worked out in time.
