It would seem congratulations are in order for you too, Sir.

Is this post, my attempt to point out hypocrisy, actually useful in any way either? No, congrats go to me as well.

I watched Naked Lunch not too long ago for a second time and it still threw me for a loop. If any one could offer up their interpretation as just what the hell that film means, I would be grateful.

Sorry, this post had absolutely nothing to do with a Tale of Two Sisters.

Well Ive not seen Tale of Two Sisters, so maybe I deserve a golf clap as well...but as far as kiddcapone goes...why are you all feeding him what he wants? You shouldnt be surprised at his behavior by any means...I mean his sig doesnt say "easiest guy to get along with since 2002"..now does it?

*edit* and about the whole people acting smarter than others, blah blah blah...no one can make you feel inferior unless you give them permission...sooooo who gives a shit?

A Tale of Two Sisters is absolutely brilliant. From the haunting waltz score to the stylish direction, everything about it seperates itself from the other asian ghost flicks that are so popular these days...

The fact that it's open to interpretation is a good thing. I for one am sick of all these films that spoon-feed you the plot and tell you exactly what you're supposed to be thinking. There really is nothing wrong with actually using your brain while watching a film...it's actually kinda fun.

No, the difference is that I've actually contributed to the thread constructively, with a fairly long post. He/she had not. Hypocrisy? Hardly. Get your shit straight. I hate head poker inners.

You must have been raped by an art film fan that had an attitude like this and you have flashbacks everytime one is brought up, because you ALWAYS say this shit!! Just because a lot of people on this board like these kinds of films, and can find meaning in them DOES NOT mean they think they're smarter than anyone else. I RARELY see people on here ever claiming they are, or even pulling the attitude that they are, yet you ALWAYS seem to pull out this card. You pull it out far more than anyone ever pulls out the "I'm smart because I understand [insert title here] and you don't" card.

And I've noticed this with many people that don't like these types of films...they always seem to think that anyone that likes them and is eager to explain why and what the film means to them are trying to pretend they're smarter than those who don't like the films. It's almost like a defense mechanism or something. Chill out people, no one thinks anyone is smarter than anyone else. My retarded buddy who called me up last night to ask me how to install a spyware program on his PC loves this film, so I don't really think intelligence plays a big factor...

Wrong...I DEFINITELY think I'm smarter than a lot of people on here...And that has nothing to do with what movies I like and they don't...

We had a nice, and civil debate that went on for pages about whether or not Samara was evil before she became a malevolent ghost...

Not really. What is there to talk about in depth if the movie didn't offer something to discuss? There is no proof of intellegence involved, you'd like to think it is a given, not something you must show at the door to get in.

For every 1 Asian film I throughly enjoy, there's 10 of these that I never EVER want to watch again. The superfans always cry that Asian films are so different from American films that they stand out and are unique. Ummmm, really? Are they really unique? Everyone seems to have a girl with long hair covering her face crawling or walking funky. Ringu, Dark Water, Tale of 2 Sisters, The Grudge, etc. The 1st time or two you see a crawling head of hair it's creepy, when it's in every goddamn film it loses it's impact. It's like watching the same recycled character put in a new film with a slightly different plot.

I stumbled across this the other day at Wal-mart for 7.99 so I figured what the hell. Plus it said UNCUT so I figured this was the best version available. Uncut? What the fuck was cut out? The movie has next to nothing for gore. The story was boring and once again turns into a story about a delusional insane person. *Yawn* Oh yeah, I forgot, it's Asian, it's 100% original and better than anything from the states...

I'd love to hear from fans of this flick. Let's hear what you thought everything meant and why you love this "masterpiece". What makes this different from other Asian ghost/dead film?

i also thought this movie was highly overrated. this movie seems more a drama and there some moments that i almost piss my pants. i <3 surround sound.
